7:30 Departure from Puerto Villamil. The guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the first stop, the Sierra Negra Volcano, located 45 minutes away by bus from your hotel.

Here, the guide will gather the group, providing a brief explanation of the place and the rules to follow during the visit. We’ll then begin the ascent to the Sierra Negra Volcano crater, one of the largest volcanoes on the islands. It has an oval-shaped caldera, measuring 9 km east-west and 7 km north-south. The volcano has experienced at least 10 eruptions, with an average rest period of 15 years between each eruptive episode.

The guide will lead us to the volcano’s fumaroles, where you can feel the heat of this place. Learn more about the evolution of the islands, how they originated, and how they will one day disappear. Finally, we’ll return to the starting point, which will take approximately 45 minutes of walking.

Lunch: Box Lunch at the Volcano Viewpoint.
Later, we’ll take our transportation back to the hotel.
1:00 P.M. Return to the hotel.
